The Nerang Riverkeepers Group was formed in 2001 and are a dedicated bushcare group partnered with the Natural Areas Management Unit under the Beaches to Bushland Volunteer Landcare program. The group focused on restoring degraded riparian areas by undertaking environmental weed management and planting along the Nerang River and successfully completed projects on Council-managed land at Kirkindale Pony Club, Hurst Family Park and Swift Park.
The group are currently working to restore Country Paradise Parklands. The 13.25 hectare parklands was purchased by the City of Gold Coast in 2011 as open space and is actively managed by the Nerang Country Paradise Association.
