About us

Native Plants Queensland (NPQ) is a non-professional, not-for-profit organisation that is open to anyone interested in studying, growing and conserving Australian plants. Our motto is ‘Cultivation, Conservation, Education’.  

The Gold Coast Branch is an active group with members ranging from novices to experts, covering a variety of different ecotypes from Pimpama to Northern NSW, Palm Beach and the Numinbah Valley. We aim to share and extend our knowledge by holding regular propagation days, walks, talks, art classes, and workshops.

Propagation and Excursions

Our Propagation Shadehouse is located next to the Beekeeper’s Shed, easily accessed via Billabirra Crescent. The Propagation Sessions are run on the fourth Saturday of the month from 8:30 am – 11:00 am, and the second Wednesday of the month from 9:30 am. This includes a chance for a chat over a cuppa. 

The Gold Coast Branch also organises a large Native Plants Market annually at the Parklands in May or June to support our local native plants growers and provide information and education to the wider Gold Coast community.
