Sheilas Shack

A place where women meet, build friendships, learn new skills and connect with others in our community.

Who Are We

The Sheilas Shack is a non-profit organisation where women of all ages share their knowledge and skills,  socialise, build friendships and attend a variety of workshops and activities. It’s a place where women who  may otherwise be isolated from their community, can meet over a cuppa & chat. New members are always  welcome. 

The Shack is open on Wed, Thurs and Sat from 9am to 12pm. Members can join in a game of cards, work on  their unfinished project, register for a workshop or demonstration or just have a cuppa & chat. 

What We Do Together

Members enjoy a diverse range of workshops, demonstrations, and guest talks covering creative, practical,  and wellbeing topics. Regular activities include a monthly book club over a shared lunch, social outings  including restaurant lunches, dinners at Nerang RSL, Nerang Cinemas, and occasional group bookings for  live theatre performances. 

Monthly members’ meetings provide a welcoming space to share ideas and contribute to planning future  events and activities. 

Community Support & Membership

The Sheilas Shack supports those who need assistance in our community including yearly contributions to  Homeless Connect and Christmas gifts to foster children. Over the past 12 months we have also made  donations to the Nerang Neighbourhood Centre and Gold Coast Youth Service Centre, Healing Hooves Inc.  and Hearts of Purple. 

We participate in community events in Country Paradise Parklands, including the monthly markets and  Family Funanza. The Sheilas Shack also caters at the biannual Orchid Shows held at Country Paradise. Our  fundraising efforts assist us to meet our day to day expenses and operational costs. 

Our annual membership fee is $50 and members can come along on any Wednesdays, Thursdays and  Saturdays.
